You can find those explosions with smoke in your game installation directory in subdirectory baseq2. In reality there are many explosives burning with out smoke so it harms nothing to have smokeless explosions. There too many locations where it will look terrible. In demo he shot one rocket under stairs and smoke is so high, that you can see it whole upstairs. I edited it the way it sounds that I have explosions with smoke. Are you sure it has same smoke effect as in video with distinct smoke ( ) and not just sprite explosion like here ? Old 3D explosions are the best, because it looks the same in every situation. Smoke effect looks good from distance, but in most cases, there are explosions everywhere around you and you are running through effect, which sucks. I have this version of explosions, but I switched to 3D explosions, because those "advanced" looks terrible from above or below. ![]() NVIDIA does not own the rights to Q2, and since we are making the modified engine open source, we cannot create and make calls to a Steam library.
